Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of Lancaster Residents Directory, a private reference to Los Angeles County and California records. Accessing or using the pages means these terms are accepted. Anyone who does not accept them should stop using the service.

1. Nature of the Reference

Lancaster Residents Directory describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Lancaster, California. It stores no government record and is not affiliated with the City of Lancaster, Los Angeles County, the State of California, any court, library, or records custodian.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the pages only in a lawful manner. You may not use the service or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person
  • Find someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud or identity theft
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision involving credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance
  • Scrape, reproduce, or republish the material at scale
  • Disrupt the service, probe its security, or interfere with its operation

3. No Consumer Reports

The service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Material on these pages, and results returned by a linked search provider, are not consumer reports. They may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links

Los Angeles County, Lancaster, California, library, archive, and commercial search links lead to services with separate terms and privacy rules. Lancaster Residents Directory does not control their availability, content, prices, results, or data practices.

5. No Promise of Accuracy

The pages are supplied on an “as is” and “as available” basis. No warranty is made that a statement, link, fee, field, coverage date, or external result is complete, accurate, current, or uninterrupted. The named custodian is the proper source for verification.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or an outside resource, including a decision based on a record reached through them.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, damages, and reasonable attorney fees arising from misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to the operators and are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is permitted. Full-page republication or systematic copying is not.

9. Revisions

New wording may be posted in a later version of these terms. Continued access after a change means the revised terms are accepted.

10. Restricted Access

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who breaches these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its operation. This may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without applying conflict-of-law rules. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, governs requests for existing public records from the responsible custodian. It does not require Lancaster or Los Angeles County to create a new resident list, and it does not make every record public.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
